There is a ton of things to see in this city. Reason for a return visit, no? As for lights, I think it is lighted as this appears to be a feature of some of Bartlett’s works. That said, I was never there at night so can’t say this is for sure. My assignment for a return visit! 🙂
It does have such a look. This sculptor has other similar pieces most notably Nautilus. When you were at the HGV did you go outdoors in the back? The large ‘Rube Goldberg’ looking piece standing in the pond behind the museum building is one of Bartlett’s works (Messenger).
🙂 . Thanks, Allan. Bartlett does some interesting things and this piece is a pleasant find amidst big buildings on the corner of some wide boulevards.
Lovely piece of artwork!

Glad you like this, Yvette. This piece was done with some history in mind so is doubly interesting. Cheers!

I’m sorry we missed this when we were in Melbourne. Is it lit up at night? I wonder. It was lit with pink lights on the website. Interesting.

Definitely we need to return. We won’t tell our friends from Sydney that we REALLY enjoyed our time in Melbourne. 🙂 🙂

A wonderful photo to start our week. I was sitting here imagining what this would look like in the early morning light and then clicked on your first link and got an answer: Aurora is the Goddess of Dawn. Mr. Bartlett thought of everything.

Very interesting – street art comes in many shapes, sizes and forms. You’ve shown us a very unique example!
