A flowering maple blossom after some rain for Cee’s March 2, 2018 Flower of the Day.
Oops! Meant to post this yesterday for Cee’s Flower of the Day for February 18, 2018. Better late than never, I suppose. Cee’s flower was a bearded iris and one had just popped up in the garden, so I thought I’d do another, too. 🙂

Geometric growth.
Female Australian walking stick (extatosoma tiaratum). To avoid predators this docile insect is camouflaged to look like leaves and if threatened, will curl its tail to mimic a scorpion. The one shown here, subject of the last post, is now back in her terrarium happy to munch on eucalyptus leaves.
